If you are offered and accept employment with Parloa, the information collected during the application and recruitment process will become part of your employment record.
When you apply for a job at Parloa, the personal data contained in your application will be collected by Parloa, which is located at Schönhauser Allee 9, 10119 Berlin, Germany, and can be contacted by emailing [email protected]. Your personal data will be processed for the purposes of managing Parloa’s recruitment-related activities, which include setting up and conducting interviews and tests for applicants, evaluating and assessing the results thereto, and as is otherwise needed in the recruitment and hiring processes. Such processing is legally permissible under § 26 BDSG (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and Art. 6(1)(f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) as necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Parloa, which are the solicitation, evaluation, and selection of applicants for employment.
Your information may be shared with our affiliates, subsidiaries or joint ventures in the US and in other jurisdictions, in relation to the purposes described above. If you have been referred for a job at Parloa by a current Parloa employee, with your consent, we may inform that employee about the progress of your application and let the Parloa employee know the outcome of the process. In some cases, if it is identified that you have attended the same university/school or shared the same previous employer during the same period as a current Parloa employee we may consult with that employee for feedback on you.
Parloa may also use service providers acting on Parloa’s behalf to perform some of the services described above including for the purposes of the verification/background checks. These service providers may be located outside the country in which you live or in the country where the position you have applied for is located.
Parloa may sometimes be required to disclose your information to external third parties such as to local labor authorities, courts and tribunals, regulatory bodies and/or law enforcement agencies for the purpose of complying with applicable laws and regulations, or in response to legal process.
We will also share your personal information with other third parties if we have your consent (for example if you have given us permission to contact your referees), or to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues, or to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Parloa, our users, applicants, candidates, employees or the public or as otherwise required by law.
It is your responsibility to obtain consent from referees before providing their personal information to Parloa.
Parloa is based in Germany, which means your information may be stored in accordance with the German and European Union GDPR standards. Regardless of where your information is processed, we apply the same protections described in this policy.
For recruiting purposes, we use the Applicant-Tracking-Software Greenhouse to process data.
Your personal data will be shared with Greenhouse Software, Inc., a cloud services provider located in the United States of America and engaged by Parloa to help manage its recruitment and hiring process on Parloa’s behalf. Accordingly, if you are located outside of the United States, your personal data will be transferred to the United States once you submit it through this site. Because the European Union Commission has determined that United States data privacy laws do not ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data collected from EU data subjects, the transfer will be subject to appropriate additional safeguards under Standard Contractual Clauses. Parloa takes appropriate steps to protect information about you that is collected, processed, and stored as part of the application and recruitment process.
We collect and process your information where it is necessary in order to take steps, at your request, prior to our potentially entering into a contract of employment with you.
We may also seek your consent to process your personal information in specific circumstances or process it where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or for purposes connected to legal claims. If we use your information to improve our application or recruitment process, we do so on the basis that it is in our legitimate interests to ensure we recruit the best possible candidates.
Your personal data will be retained by Parloa as long as Parloa determines it is necessary to evaluate your application for employment. They will be deleted in the last 6 months after your application has been fully evaluated. Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to request that your personal data be rectified or erased, and to request that processing of your personal data be restricted. You also have the right to data portability. In addition, you may lodge a complaint with an EU supervisory authority.
We retain this information for various reasons, including in case we face a legal challenge in respect of a recruitment decision, to consider you for other current or future jobs at Parloa, and to help us better understand, analyze and improve our recruitment processes.
If you do not want us to retain your information for consideration for other roles, or want us to update it, please contact [email protected]. Please note, however, that we may retain some information if required by law or as necessary to protect ourselves from legal claims.
In certain countries, you may have certain rights under data protection law. This may include the right to request access or to update or review your information, request that it be deleted or anonymized, or object to or restrict Parloa using it for certain purposes.

Other information you create or provide, such as the content you create, upload or otherwise provide in connection with the application and recruitment process.

Administrative purposes: Parloa uses and may disclose information for purposes related to carrying out its application and recruitment process, including for assessing candidates; verifying information and conducting reference checks and criminal and financial background checks (where applicable); communicating with you; responding to requests for assistance with obtaining an immigration visa or work permit (where required); diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and other related activities.
Protecting against security threats, abuse, illegal activity, and violations: Parloa uses and may disclose information to detect, prevent and respond to security incidents, and for protecting against other malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity. For example, to protect our services, Google may receive or disclose information about IP addresses that malicious actors have compromised.
Auditing and measurement: Parloa uses information for analytics and measurement to understand the use of Parloa accounts, systems, and services.
Maintaining our services: Parloa uses the information to ensure our equipment, accounts systems, and services are working as intended, such as tracking outages or troubleshooting bugs and other issues.
Research and development: Parloa uses the information to improve our application and recruitment process, including improving diversity in recruitment practices.
Legal reasons: Parloa also uses information to satisfy applicable laws or regulations, and discloses information in response to legal processes or enforceable government requests, including to law enforcement.
Other people with whom you choose to share your information, such as the content you create, upload, or otherwise provide in connection with the application and recruitment process.
